Antique genuine red tortoise shell tobacco box. The box measures 6 1/4" wide by 5 1/4" deep by 4" tall. The box is ebony trimmed set with a brass key plate, the key is absent. The box has a couple minor flaws: a small sliver missing to the right top back side, and what appears to be a small burn mark top right lid. There is a split to the base of the box. All the hardware is original and the lid fits snugly. We date the box circa 1900, legal antique.
